Cevo A CNC MACHINED STOOL DESIGN

DESIGN BRIEF

Using CNC milling equipment and other processes, design and manufacture a functional Stool.

Group Project:
Daniel Loney, Joseph Calatan, Fellipy Costa

Tools: Autodesk Fusion + Keyshot + Photoshop

My Responsibilities:

Ideation, CAD, CNC Tooling Setup, Assembly.

Period: 2 Months

Design Constraints

  • Scaled with a seat height of 17" to 20"

  • Must be designed to use 2.5-axis machine techniques

  • Materials chosen must be appropriate to a piece of fine furniture

  • Must Support the weight of an adult human

Design Goals

Challenges

  • Size requirement of the stool made it difficult to develop a clean design with few components

  • The support metal structure was hidden manually using a jig to drill 4 holes on the side of the stool.

  • The plywood we selected unfortunately was not the best which resulted in a lot of sanding
